Denver Technology Services
"Animated Promo" - Spring 2015
Featuring RL Cole's "Little Black Dog"
DESIGN WORK

An animated promo featuring Hand drawn 2D animation from Worker Studio in Denver's Metro Area. Frank Daidone, the Chief Information Officer of the City of Denver came to us with a vision to show off all the great things Denver Technology Services does for our Mile High City. The mission was to show a single individual's stroll down a Denver city street, interacting with the technological advantages this innovative department has developed.
We were stoked to collaborate with Mr. Daidone, and really love that he introduced us to Denver singer/songwriter Robert Louis Cole (R.L. Cole). Cole performed for Denver's Channel 8 "Loft Sessions." The opening track of that performance, Cole's "Little Black Dog" was the perfect touch to set the pace of our leading lady's walk through Denver. Cole's song became a creative fuel throughout production, as we'd hear his voice emanate throughout the studio at every stage of production.
The production also gave Worker Studio a chance to "reunite" some Disney guys, who collaborated on three animated features together, but had never met. Our Chief Creative Officer & Art Director (at the time), Barry Kooser painted backgrounds on The Lion King, Pocahontas and Mulan at the Orlando Studio. Meanwhile, Brian Ferguson was animating characters such as Timon, Meeko, and The Matchmaker, respectively, in the Burbank Studio. We were excited to bring Brian on as our 2D animation lead for this production.
